The First ever Turkey Competition at the Benvenuti Household has officially begun!!!
Well, it actually started around 10am here, considering that it'll take my moms turkey to take forever.
But we do have the fire lit for the boys turkey. Watching them light the thing made me as nervous as hell, to be quit honest.
Pics of the days events are being taken and will be posted tomorrow (I could post them tonight, but I might be too tired and full from dinner).

First ever Turkey Cooking Competition is tomorrow. If this works out we'll be doing this every year from now on.
In one corner: Mom; brimming and cooking turkey in oven.
In another: Brothers, briming and frying turkey.
Who will win? We shall see!
Frankly I'll be happy if they don't burn down the house. I will let you all know how this will go. Mom is getting competitive right now. It's pretty entertaining to watch her and brothers doing all the prep work . . .

Rules of the game: grab the book nearest you. Right now.
* Turn to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post that sentence AND post these instructions in a comment.
* Don't dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST book.
I actually am reading two books at the same time. I alternite every night. They are both on my nightstand.
1) Circle of Magic: Book 4; Briars Book by Tamora Pierce
"What were you doing?" asked the redhead.
2) Eldest: Book 2 in the Inheritence Cycle by Christopher Paolini
All the lanterns were shuttered halfway so that a cool twilight suffused the air, lending an ethereal feel to the event.

I got Star Trek a day early. I've been geeking out all afternoon!
Simon Pegg is hystarical. John Cho kicks ass. Anton I just wanna hug. And Chris Pine I just wanna give him kisses. Karl Urban too for that matter.

So today is the last day that I am 24! :D
Tonight I'm going to the movies with Kayla to start off the celebration. Tomorrow is the big Disneyland day with Teresa. Friday we're seeing Where the Wild Things Are, going to Color Me Mine and then the dinner at zubies with everyone. Saturday morning I'm having breakfast in bed and opeening up my presants. I'm not sure when I'm having the family dinner. That'll depend on my Aunt Sheri.

Where Would You Go?Stargate Universe: Pilot Episode- “Air” Review
It has been a while since I’ve done on of these. I’m attempting to start these up again, with the new series and all . . .
!!!!!!!!!!BEWARE OF SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!
While the credits are rolling we’re getting some very cool shots of the Ancient ship. It’s a good way to start the series. It’s establishing where the heck everything is. The Stargate just activated and people are being shot out of the ‘Gate like people used to in the beginning of SG-1. We’re tuning in right in the beginning of the evacuation.
I gotta say it’s good to see the Stargate in all it’s beauty again.
Now we’re flashing back here . . . And who’s dropping buy Eli’s place . . . Jack!!! Hey, I remember you! Is it me or has RDA gotten a little chubby? Anyways . . . Eli’s not talking to our man Jack, so he beams Eli up to one of USAF’s ships. Teehee!
Daniel!!!! In a Gate History video for the newcomers. And Eli is getting bored out of his mind. Me on the other hand? I’d like the whole video on HD DVD please. ASAP would be nice. :D
Back to the present: I so recognized the Atlantis set here. But the hyperspace is nice. I’d like the room with THAT balcony please! And we’ve got a problem with the life support system is failing. Naturally. And commercial!!!!
And we’re back!! With another flashback! It’s Col. Everett’s. We’re taken back to the present and Everett is having seizures.
Another flashback . . . The team is meeting for the first time.
And this is when I get too wrapped up in the episode to care about a RT review. Once I’ve watched the episode I’ll type up a review that’s not in real time. But with the fact that it’s captured my attention is a good sign . . .
Overall: This show is awesome!!!! My favorite character would have to be Eli, hands down. The VFX, are as usual breathtaking. The appearances’ of Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, and Amanda Tapping were too short for me, but glad they were there in the episode. It was also good to see Bill Dow and Gary Jones, even if it were only for a few short seconds.
I am sad to see Lou Diamond Philips character die so soon. Wasn’t he a regular cast member? Perhaps we’ll only see him in more flashbacks? I hope that’s the case. Having LDP as a regular has helped promote the show. Plus, he’s just a plain good actor and brings an amount of coolness to any character he plays.
And that’s it for the Pilot for SGU’s “Air”. I hope that was coherent enough of a review. Needless to say I’m a little rusty when it comes to writing reviews.

I just got my Sanctuary DVDs yesterday. So, I've been enjoying my Sanctuary marathon ever since last night.
Today I could not wait to get home from work to continue the Marathon. That hasn't happened since I got my Bones DVD sets months and months ago.
And it wasn't just an eagerness to get home type of anticipation. It was a manic eagerness, like I was out of a drug and needed more type of a thing. I was jittery and everything. Not that I woulodn't know what that actually feels like, but you guys know what I mean . . .
AND
I found a site that's streaming Merlin Season 2!!!!!

Okay, so we're not doing Ariels Grotto (waaaaaaay too expaensive for either of us!) I'm thinking we'll go to The Rainforest Cafe in Downton Disney instead. That's always a fun place to eat for birthdays.
Also, Teresa has class thta day (Thursday). But I told her, since we'll be at the park earler (rope drop kinda early!) that she can go to class and come back and have dinner and then hang out for the rest of the day. Her class is from 1-6.
I still need to think of a cake for the Zubies dinner friday night . . . Any photoshop wizards out there? I'm thinking of photoshopping disneycharacters as SG-1 hehehe . . .
The countdown has officailly begun!!!
28 days till I'm 25!!!

If you're any type of Potter Fan and have an Annual Pass to Disneyland should come and hang out!!
I went to the first meet in 2007 and had a blast. The only reason why nI missed lat years was because I didn't know when it was until the day after the meet!
But I'm definetly coming to this years. I'll be dragging Teresa along.

At first when I heard they're cancelling SGA for a new spin-off series I was mad. I had invested so much time and effort in the Atlantis characters, that I didn't want them replaced with another SG series. At least when SG1 fianlly went off the air we had a few years of both shows running beside one another and we new immediatly we'd be getting two SG1 movies.
I've probably voiced my opinion here, or on GW, but I'd much rather have weekly adventures than a huge, larger than life scale adventure every six months to a year. But that's just me . . .
And doubled by the fact that SGU woulkd be darker than the previous spin-off. My mind went immediatly to BSG. Which I can't stand for being too dark and serious. Another reason why I wasn't looking forward to the new series of my favorite franchises EVER.
Until I started watching the trailers, sneak peaks, actor interviews. To my releif, it wasn't going to be Stargate Galactica. It was going to be Stargate with a little more realistic Prime Directive: SURVIVAL. With the same serious scenes, some funny scenes (ala McKay being who he is and laughing at him for it), and the adventure that comes with the Stargate. My franchise isn't ruined, like I originally thought. It's just going to be differant. This experience should make me trust Brad and Robert more.
So, now, like anyother Stargate fan, I am counting down the days till it's premiere on October 2.
